Latin-themed Polish Wedding

Updated: Sep 19, 2021

With COVID grounding most of us, it's tough to quench our wanderlust. Some may be taken away through YouTube videos, blogs, or even VR. For Anna, it was through her wedding. As we were working through her wedding vision, she fell in love with this photo shoot:

Shoot originally done by: Concept, Planning & Hair: Hairluxe Co. | Photography: The Butterfly Photography | Flowers: Wine Country Floral | Invitations & Stationery: The Polka Dot Paper Shop | Makeup: Nicole Grittani Artistry | Dresses, Earrings & Bracelet: Valencienne Bridal Design | Rentals & Decor: Gala Decor | Venue: Hacienda Sarria

This photo shoot reminded her of her travels. The color palette was vibrant, bold, and had a Latin flair to it. To bring that vision to life, we hired Floriography, based in Denville, NJ. Angela, the owner, was able to take one particular piece of inspiration and bring it to life. In Polish weddings, there are special serving trays that are placed in the middle of the table to hold the many meal courses throughout the evening. To work with this tradition, the centerpieces were retrofitted to easily sit atop the middle tier of the server.

To further add the Latin aesthetics, we went to Etsy and found Vintage Babydoll, a shop specializing in papel picado and other Latin touches. Custom banners, table cards, and flags were ordered. The banners were placed on railings, and tethered to places on the ceiling. Having the papel picado on the lower ceiling made the venue feel more intimate and welcoming. I added the finishing touches with a custom welcome sign, "find your table" sign, and custom coffee graphic.

What brought the evening home was the energy and vibrancy of their Polish wedding. Simone Band brought the heat and uplifted the room, mixing between traditional Polish and American pop music. The cherry on top was Anna and Aleks, the bride and groom. They were glowing the minute they walked into the room. From the vodka and bread tasting (spoiler: the groom got the vodka) to the first dance, and to receiving praise from their bridal party, pure joy ran across their faces. Their son, Max, was full of energy, happy to see his mom and dad get married.

Anna and Aleks, gratulujemy! Życzymy Wam wszystkiego, co najlepsze!
