Storybook Baby Shower

To welcome her first grandson into the world, Judy wanted to throw a shower. After witnessing her daughter's intimate wedding, she wanted to go above and beyond when she heard her daughter was pregnant. To hit the ground running, she hired Chez Alice Catering for a cocktail hour-style menu. Through Chez Alice, Judy found me.

Together, we figured out how to manifest the shower's theme, children's books. This was done through using my in-house design services. This included a storybook welcome sign, food labels with characters matching the station, game cards, and station signage. What's a party without some balloons? Judy commissioned a balloon arch with a custom decal, along with balloon topiaries leading guests to the house.

It's all in the details. Finishing touches included ABC pages for guests to color in to form a book, lawn games, sign-a-stone, and various desserts provided by Little Pink Cake. To add some ambience, Lawrence Cooley provided the music. Judy made sure a lounge tent was set up next to the main tent, so guests can lounge and have a drink provided by one of her colleagues. At the end of the day, guests walked away with favors paying homage to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. One other big bonus: the weather held out after many days of rain. In the end, the shower was a memorable one for all attendees. No one expected a celebration as big as this. Best wishes to Mariel and Don for their baby on the way. Cheers!
